Wishing for Summer: a poem

The trees sway, leaves fall,
and autumn is upon us.
Wish it was summer.

Snow drops from a branch,
comes down on my thick coat's hood.
Wish it was summer.

Branches sprout blossoms,
and the birds sing in the trees.
Well, almost summer.

The sun shines brightly,
and forest green surrounds me.
Finally ... summer.
