My Heaven: a poem

A sea of green leaves,
the scent of the rain on the wind,
a winding river.

The feel of smooth rock
and light caress of raindrops
bring infinite peace.
I hear the water and wind
and smell the leaves around me.

I am unrestrained;
part of everything. Mountains,
leaves and firesmoke.

I am satisfied,
and I lie back on the ledge,
watching the rain fall.
I taste the smoke, leaves and air,
close my eyes. Part of it all.
